Right now, workers are feeling the pressure. The cost of living keeps rising, public services are stretched, and it can feel like the system isn’t working for the people who keep our communities running. But when I travel across the province and talk with members, I don’t see defeat - I see workers who care deeply about their union and about each other. That’s where our strength comes from.

Over the last few years working with the municipal sector, I’ve focused on connecting locals, creating space for conversations, and encouraging members to get involved. When workers start mobilizing, sharing ideas, and supporting each other, our union becomes more powerful.

I’m a young municipal worker, and I believe the future of our union depends on engaging more members and building that collective energy. When members are active and organized, we can defend public services and fight for the changes workers deserve.

Convention is an opportunity for us to keep building that momentum together.
